Berry Busted

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Lewis Thomas bet 2,000 on an {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop from the cutoff and Will Berry called on the button. The turn brought the {3-Spades} and Thomas fired 7,000. Berry tanked awhile and put his last 13,000 or so in and Thomas immediately called, showing {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for top set. Berry flashed what looked like two paint cards and mucked as the {3-Spades} hit the river.

Carpenter Chipping Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Cash Carpenter got in a preflop raising war from the button, five-bet shipping for 29,225 after a player in early position four-bet to 9,175. Carpenter took down the pot when his opponent folded.

Later, we found Carpenter putting 7,000 in the pot on a {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop. With the pot already containing more than 20,000, his opponent nonetheless folded, ceding the pot to Carpenter.

Bad Turn for Wretchy

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Dan "Wretchy" Martin bet 1,500 after two players checked to him on an {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. Small blind Timothy Black made it 3,000 to go and Martin called after the squeezed player mucked. The turn was an {8-Spades} and Black bet 7,000. Martin pushed all in and his opponent called right away for 13,575.

Martin: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Black: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Both had two pair but Martin was way behind. A {q-Hearts} river improved Black to a full house and he doubled up.

Lowery Not Slowing Down on Bullet No. 2

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

According to Ross Bybee, Duma Lowery had made it 1,100 to go blind under the gun and got one call from a player in the hijack. He fired a continuation-bet that got called on the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and then he shoved all in on the {8-Spades} for about the size of the pot, 7,000 or so effective. The hijack called off with {a-}{2-} and was fading Lowery's {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, a pair and a flush draw. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Lowery made his flush to take the pot.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Spriggs' Light Call Busts Lowery

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

A player opened to 1,000 under the gun and Duma Lowery made it 2,600 to go from his left. Rodney Spriggs cold-called, and the opener followed the blinds into the muck. Lowery checked the {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and called 4,200 from Spriggs. He then shoved all in on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Spriggs called it off.

Spriggs: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Lowery: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The river was a {9-Diamonds}, improving Spriggs to two pair.

"Easy call," Lowery said. "Preflop too."

"Just splashing," Spriggs said.

The next hand, Lowery put his last 3,000 or so in preflop blind and got a call from Terry Presley, whose {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} held against {k-}{3-}.
