Joe Walters, who graduates next week, is looking to spend this week taking down the Run Good Poker Series Kansas City Main Event. He took the first step and bagged the largest stack (284,000) ahead of 28 others during Day 1b of the $100,000 Guarantee main event.

Today's flight drew 151 players, bringing the total entries so far in the tournament to 273. Walters leads the way, but Jeremy Tinsley is not far behind with 143,500. Tinsley most recently chopped the RGPS Bossier City Main Event earlier this month for $27,224.

Pokernews Podcast host [Removed:139] jumped into the game at the registration deadline after going to the Kansas City Royals game and failed to bag for the second flight. Meanwhile, Chris Horter found a bag after hopping in late as well. He advanced with 39,500.

Several of the Run Good Ambassadors who are still looking for a spot in Day 2 are expected to join the field in the final flight Saturday at noon for Day 1C.

Jeremy Tinsley Looking to Make Another Run

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jeremy Tinsley is fresh off a four-way chop at the Run Good Poker Series Main Event in Bossier City. He took home $27,224 in that chop.

Tinsley was on the button when Rodney Spriggs opened with a limp and Joe Walters raised to 8,000 before Tinsley raised to 22,000. Spriggs folded and Walters called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Walters checked. Tinsley shoved all in for 137,000 into Walters remaining 165,000. Walters folded queens face up and Tinsley flashed the {j-Clubs} before scooping up the pot.

Rodney Spriggs opened to 5,000 from middle position and the small blind moved all in for 7,600. Spriggs called and tabled {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and was behind the {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and hit running nines to take the pot and eliminate his opponent.
