Day 2 of Event #6: $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em in the Run Good Poker Series at Seminole Coconut Creek came to a halt with four players remaining, wishing to play tomorrow afternoon. Each player is guaranteed a minimum payout of $35,969 with every player left chasing the $111,168 first place prize, and seat to the Pro-Am tournament later this year.

Sitting with the chip lead at the moment is Matthew Bretzfield, who holds 5,900,000. Bretzfield had a swingy final few levels, dipping below a million a few times with two tables remaining, but went on a late night heater that included doubling through Timothy “T.K” Miles in a key pot at the final table.

6Matthew Lambrecht $22,600
7Kevin Blewitt $18,595
8Leroy Grant $14,827
9Jacob Ristich $11,117

Sitting at the final table as well is Day 1c chip leader Vladimir Grechnikov with 4,750,000 in chips. Grechnikov came in as one of the big stacks of the day and steadily amassed as the day continued on. Throughout the majority of the final table he held the chip lead and until the end of the night when he lost a big pot to Bretzfield for 4 million chips.

WPT Sochi winner Denys Shafikov comes into the day with 4,700,000. Throughout most of the day Shafikov was the chip leader and he secured that position when he knocked out PokerGO commentator Jeff Platt with pocket kings versus Platt’s ace-king. Fighting back from the short stack at the final table, he was all-in and at risk for his stack with only a straight draw, but a completion on the river and he was able to survive and end the day just behind second in chips.

Jason Wandling bagged the short stack today with 2,950,000. Wandling found himself on the shorter end of the spectrum when the final table began, but through various hands and a fortunate double up through Denys Shafikov with a king-seven versus ace-jack, he managed to remain in contention for the title.

Start Of Day

The start of the day saw many players eliminated prior to the bubble. Yuval Bronshtein, Kris Burchfield, and David Nathaniel were among the players to be eliminated prior to the bubble. The bubble itself only lasted two hands when Sean Shah got in his stack with pocket jacks, only to get snapped off by the pocket aces of Daniel Pearlman.

The Bubble Bursts

The bursting of the bubble saw many players in quick succession fall including Papa Karn (74th-$1,469), Willie Wiggins (68th-$1,734), Jerry Wong (38th-$2,642),Jamie Kerstetter (24th-$4,329), and Phillip Hui (19th-$5,208). The final table was reached when Dennis Rodriguez could not improve with jack-ten versus the ace-queen of Bretzfield and walked away with $9,271 for 10th place.

Final Table

The first casualty of the final table was Jacob Ristich when he four-bet moved all-in with pocket queens only to get snapped by the pocket aces of Timothy “T.K.” Miles. Ristich collected $11,117 for his 10th place finish.

The following player to be eliminated was Leroy Grant who moved all-in with ace-queen on cutoff and was snapped off by Gretzfield with pocket tens. No ace or queen could be found on the runout of the board and Grant collected his 8th place winnings of $14,827.

Start of day chip leader Kevin Blewitt could not get much going at the final table and he found himself all-in and at risk against Jason Wandling with nine-seven against ace-ten. No improvement was given and Blewitt was ousted in 7th place for $18,595.

Day 1a chip leader Matthew Lambrecht found himself eliminated in 6th place for $22,600 when he got in ace-jack versus Miles’ ace-ten only for Miles to hit three tens on the runout, giving him the chip lead.

Miles’ chip lead was not to last though, as through a series of double ups and massive chip exchanges, Miles found himself all in with ace-king of hearts against the pocket queens of Wandling. No ace, king, or heart flush was able to appear on the ten high runout and last year's runner-up finisher found his run coming to an end in fifth place for $27,607.

The players will return tomorrow at 2 PM with the levels coming back at 200,000/400,000 and lasting 40-minutes long each. Players will return tomorrow to play down to a winner.

Stay tuned to Pokernews for updates throughout Day 3 of the finale at the Run Good Poker Series at Seminole Coconut Creek.

Timothy Miles raised to 250,000 preflop from the cutoff and was called by Matthew Bretzfield on the button with the remaining action folding.
