The second flight of the RunGood Poker Series $600 Main Event at Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Council Bluffs saw a total of 134 entrants, put their name into consideration for the next Main Event Ring. After the dust settled, only 17 found their way to a bag at the end of the night.

Leading the way is Nick Barksdale who ended the day with 551,000. Barksdale saw many of his chips acquired in a cooler spot where he had the nut flush versus Brian Frenzel who possessed a lower flush. That pot catapulted him to the chip lead and he maintained it for the majority of the tournament.

Both players are RGPS regulars and have positioned themselves for a run towards their next titles. Eric Colvin seemed destined to be the last player to leave before the money when he got his remaining chips in with pocket tens against his opponents pocket aces. Fate had other ideas as a running straight doubled him up on the second to last pot of the night and he ended the day with 359,000.

Eric Colvin
Colvin survived on the bubble after running out a straight to put himself in the top five of his flight.

Players who saw their 1b bagging dreams coming to a close included Blair Hinkle, Jeff Tebben, Ryan Phan, Duster Ellis, and Brian Frenzel. They will all have two more opportunities to bag in the form of tomorrow’s flights at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Players will return on Day 2 at the beginning of level 15 where they will play until a winner is crowned.
