O'Dell Takes Overall Chip Lead

Level 13 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dakotah O'Dell
Dakotah O'Dell

Dakotah O'Dell has just become the first player to cross the 600,000 chip mark this weekend.

After an opponent open jammed under the gun for approximately 35,000, O'Dell called on the button.

The blinds folded and O'Dell was in great shape for another elimination.

Under the Gun: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Dakotah O'Dell: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The board came {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}, and another pot was pushed to the Day 1c chip leader who has now become the overall tournament chip leader as well.

Julie Cornelius

After three players limped preflop including Megan Moore in early position and Brandon Hoerl in middle position, Julie Cornelius raised to 26,000 in the small blind.

Cornelius' opponents all folded sending five critical big blinds her way without resistance as the field draws closer to the Day 2 bubble.

O'Dell Challenging for Overall Chip Lead

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Marsha Adams set the mark to catch for Day 2 with a stack of 596,000 chips to end Day 1a on Friday night.

No one came close to that mark in Day 1b, but in Day 1c, we have a contender in Dakotah O'Dell.

In a recent hand, with approximately 40,000 in the pot on a {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, O'Dell checked under the gun to Jamie Rawlings to his immediate left.

Rawlings bet 25,000 but was then check-raised all in for a bit under 75,000 more. Rawlings called and was in rough shape.

Jamie Rawlings: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Dakotah O'Dell: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Rawlings would need to make a set of her own to survive the hand, but after the {2-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river, O'Dell had claimed another victim as his stack approaches the 600,000 mark.

Meanwhile, Jeff Platt and John Reynolds were among recent eliminations that have brought the field to its final three tables.

Break Time

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Just 37 players remain, with the final 20 advancing to Day 2.

They have been sent on a 10-minute break while the T-500 chips are colored up and raced off.

"Can't Beat the Nuts"

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a five-way limped pot to the turn board of {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, action was checked to Megan Moore in middle position who bet 12,000. Brandon Hoerl called in the cutoff, Julie Cornelius folded, Barbara Johnson called in early position and Joey McCaig folded.

Now three-handed to the river, Action was checked to Hoerl who bet 45,000.

Both his opponents folded, with Moore saying "I can't beat you."

"Can't beat the nuts," said Hoerl as he flipped over {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} before dragging a healthy pot before break.
