Updated Counts

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sixty-five players remain, just one elimination away from reaching hand-for-hand play and two from the bubble bursting. Updated counts from around the room have been provided below.

One of the two recent bust outs to bring the field to its size was Carson Perrault, who confirmed the details of his bust out with PokerNews before jumping in this afternoon's turbo event. According to Perrault, he was down to his last 10 big blinds and called it off from the big blind once the small blind put him all in.

Perrault: {k-}{q-}
Opponent: {10-}{9-}

A nine on the flop was more than Perrault would overcome, and he was felted three from the money as a result.

Lammie-Anders Gets a Dub

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Teresa Lammie-Anders opened in the cutoff and saw Shannon Hamblen three-bet to 50,000 on the button. Lammie-Anders re-jammed for 75,000 total and Hamblen called.

Lammie-Anders: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Hamblen: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

The runout {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} ensured another double for Lammie-Anders, and she now finds herself with 175K at the end of Level 17.

Bubble Bursts as Miskelly and Dunn Fall

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Kaleb Dunn
Kaleb Dunn

Hand #1: The floor made an announcement for dealers to hold up after finishing the hand they were playing, as Walker Miskelly had been eliminated from Table 23. Tablemate David Lee confirmed the action, saying Miskelly had open-jammed and received a call from Lee before Matthew Kassella re-jammed for a well-above-average stack. Lee took no time to think about his decision, taking a shot at the double knockout.

Miskelly: {j-}{10-}
Kassela: {a-}{k-}
Lee: {a-}{k-}

"We chopped Walker's stack," said Lee.

Hand #2: While Miskelly was being eliminated, Kaleb Dunn and Jon Swift were involved in a pot that had around 100,000 in the middle on a completed board of {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

Dunn was in the cutoff and bet 33,000 after Swift checked to him in early position, only to see Swift check-shove for his remaining stack of around 185,000. After a while in the tank, Dunn found a call.

Dunn: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Swift: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Dunn had hit top pair, top kicker on the river after failing to complete his flush draw. Unfortunately for him, Swift turned a set of tens that proved best and eliminated Dunn in 64th place moments later to burst the bubble and take the tournament into the money.

Frazier Flipped Out of the Tournament

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

David Frazier open-jammed for 138,000 in early position and was called by Kevin Cupp in the hijack.

Frazier: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Cupp: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

A king-high runout of {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} left Cupp's tens best and eliminated Frazier from the tournament amidst a handful of "Seat Open" calls heard from other tables around the room.

Day 1 Chip Leader Dang Gets Eliminated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Kenny Dang
Kenny Dang

Dylan Lemery opened to 22,000 in early position and saw action fold to Kelvin Douglas in the small blind, who called. Kenny Dang defended his big blind as well and the flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Douglas checked to Dang and he shoved for 145,000, with Lemery calling and Douglas folding.

Dang: {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Lemery: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Dang's pair of eights was best at the time, but he was in an effective race for his stack with Lemery's flush draw and two overcards. The turn came {2-Clubs}, giving Lemery the nuts, and the river {9-Spades} fell behind to make the hand official, bringing about the end of Day 1 Chip Leader Dang's tournament life.
