RunGood Contenders Series Season Finale is Nguyen's to Lose on Tuesday

Toan Nguyen
Toan Nguyen

The historic first-ever $1,000,000 guaranteed RunGood Season Finale crowns a champion Tuesday here in Northern California, and while just 32 of the original 417 total entries are returning for a chance at the title, one stands well above the other 31.

With a stack of 1,890,000, Sacramento’s Toan Nguyen takes more chips than the second and third-place players combined into Day 3 after an incredible run late in the day Monday. Those competing stacks belong to Charisse Case (935,000), and Michael Loncar (840,000).

Also in contention near the top of the chip counts, but still well behind Nguyen are two-time WPT champion and Day 1b chip leader Cornel Cimpan (775,000), and Day 1a chip leader Lane Jacobson (644,000).

A trio of RunGood Ambassadors are also still in the mix with Tyler Patterson (570,000), Ray Henson (455,000), and Ben Ludlow (260,000) all looking to make a move Tuesday.

The remaining players are all guaranteed at least $5,650 for their performance thus far.

Cards will be back in the air at noon local time at level 19 with blinds of 10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 big blind ante.

The players will receive 15-minute breaks at the completion of every second level with a dinner break on the docket as well at a yet-to-be-determined time.

Ludlow Doubles Through Loncar

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Ben Ludlow
Ben Ludlow

With a healthy pot already built by the turn board of {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, Ben Ludlow moved his last 175,000 in from middle position after Michael Loncar checked in the small blind.

Loncar made the call to put Ludlow at risk.

Ben Ludlow: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michael Loncar: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {a-Hearts} fell on the river confusing the dealer momentarily as he called for a payout as Loncar made his flush, however the card also gave Ludlow a full house for the win and the double up.

Meanwhile, at adjacent tables, Pierce Philp and Stuart Young were eliminated.

Henson Eliminates Fujisaka

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Ray Henson
Ray Henson

After Ray Henson raised in the cutoff, Travis Fujisaka moved all in for about 200,000 from the button. Henson called to put him at risk.

Travis Fujisaka: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Ray Henson: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Henson was crushed, but the {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop gave him a set of eights which held up through the {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} runout to eliminate Fujisaka.

Loncar Fades the World to Cross a Million

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Michael Loncar
Michael Loncar

After Anthony An raised to 40,000, Michael Loncar three-bet to 110,000. An then moved all in for Loncar's 510,000 and Loncar snap-called.

Michael Loncar: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Anthony An: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Loncar had way the best of it until the flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} giving An a straight flush draw.

The turn {2-Diamonds} was no help though, nor was the {j-Hearts} on the river as Loncar survived to drag a huge pot, putting him over a million chips and leaving An short-stacked.

An would be eliminated shortly after, as was Jon Des Pois at an adjacent table.

One of those eliminations was by Stephen Song who had started the day with just five big blinds, but now has nearly a million chips.

Ben Ludlow
Ben Ludlow

After Ben Ludlow raised to 45,000 in early position, Brett Murray moved all in for 635,000 from the small blind. Ludlow made the call with Murray slightly covered and was in rough shape.

Brett Murray: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Ben Ludlow: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, bringing no help to Ludlow, who was left with just 50,000 chips.

A couple of hands later Ludlow was all in in the big blind against Murray who flopped top pair with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} against Ludlow's jack-high and sent the RunGood Ambassador to the rail.

Brian Estrada
Brian Estrada

After David Ong raised to 80,000 in early position, Brian Estrada moved all in for his last 360,000.

Ong deliberated, talked to himself a bit, then looked skyward and called, having Estrada covered by just 10,000 chips.

Brian Estrada: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
David Ong: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}, giving Ong a set and sending him leaping out of his seat.

The {5-Spades}{2-Spades} runout sealed the suckout for Ong, which prompted jubilant celebration, dancing, and a proclamation of "that's how we do it!!!"

Loncar showed {a-}{q-} and folded.

Evan Maurer: {10-}{10-}
Stephen Song: {k-}{k-}

Ray Henson Eliminated in 22nd Place ($7,650)

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ray Henson
Ray Henson

After Trevor O'Donoghue moved all in from early position for 260,000, Ray Henson moved in for about 225,000 from the hijack.

Bryant Miller than called on the button with both players covered.

Ray Henson: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Trevor O'Donoghue: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Bryant Miller: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop gave Miller top pair, O'Donoghue an open-ended straight draw, and Henson a gutshot to Broadway.

The {9-Hearts} turn filled O'Donoghue's straight, leaving Miller drawing dead, and the {6-Spades} couldn't save Henson, sending him to the rail, while O'Donoghue celebrated a near triple-up.
