Mather Slows Down on the River But Gets There

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Bob Mather
Bob Mather

With about 12,000 in the middle on a turn board of {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Bob Mather bet 6,500 from the hijack and was called by Joshua Steiner on the button.

The river brought the {a-Hearts}, putting a fourth heart on the board. Mather checked and Steiner checked behind.

Mather showed {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a rivered top pair. Steiner shook his head slightly, then mucked his cards as the pot was pushed to the RunGood Thunder Valley PLO Event champion.

Joshua Prager: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Jon Des Pois: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}, giving Prager a set on the flop to boost his stack near double its starting value.

Jacobson Wins a Big One From Underwood

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Lane Jacobson
Lane Jacobson

Day 1a chip leader Lane Jacobson has just dragged a large pot to boost his already sizable stack.

After Jacobson raised in early position and was called by a player in middle position, Ben Underwood squeezed from the big blind to 20,000.

Jacobson came back with a four-bet to 50,000 which folded out the middle position player, but didn't shed Underwood, who called.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Underwood check-called a bet of 35,000 from Jacobson.

They each checked the {a-Diamonds} turn, then on the {10-Diamonds} river, Underwood bet 65,000 and was snap-called by Jacobson.

Underwood showed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} but Underwood showed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for a turned top pair and the winner.

Tinsley Runs into Moreno's Running Monster

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Andrew Moreno
Andrew Moreno

With approximately 40,000 in the pot on a completed board of {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Jesse Tinsley had checked to Andrew Moreno and was now facing a bet of 38,000.

Tinsley debated for over a minute before finally calling to see Moreno turn over {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for running quad sevens and a pot that pushes him toward the 400,000 chip mark.
