Day 1a Completed
After 13 levels of play, flight Day 1a of the $1,100 RunGood Main Event Baltimore has come to a close with four players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday.
Day 1a only saw 38 entries take their seats, but that number is expected to more than double for each of tomorrow’s flights b and c. Leading the way from this flight is Ari Katz with 416,000 followed by Huan Ho with 300,000, Grant Juric (259,000), and David Danlag (165,000).
Place | Player | Country | Chips | Big Blinds |
1 | Ari Katz | United States | 416,000 | 83 |
2 | Huan Ho | United States | 300,000 | 60 |
3 | Grant Juric | United States | 259,000 | 52 |
4 | David Danlag | United States | 165,000 | 33 |
Although it was a relatively short field compared to other RunGood events, there was definitely no shortage of action for this buy-in size and chips were actively being moved around the tables as players tried to build up their stacks. Some notable players that took their shot in this flight but failed to make the cut included WSOP Main Event Champ Greg Raymer, Caitlyn Arnwine, Christian Harder, and RGPS Ambassador Ben Ludlow.
One player who was actively involved throughout the day was Katz, who kept constant pressure on his opponents and was not afraid to give them a good staredown. And of course, it was Katz who wound up knocking out Ken Baime on the money bubble in 5th place when his ace-deuce cracked Baime’s pocket jacks and gave him the chip lead.
These players will return on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. where they will combine with the other surviving players from Day 1bc and will play down to a winner.
As always, stay tuned with PokerNews as we will be providing all of the updates for the RunGood Main Event here at Horseshoe Baltimore!
With the Elimination of Ken Baime, the remaining four players have bagged up to return on Sunday for Day 2.
A recap of the day's events will be released shortly so stay tuned!

After Ari Katz opened to 12,000, Ken Baime moved all in for 77,000 total. After some inner debate, Katz talked himself into a call and the cards were tabled.
Ken Baime: J♠J♦
Ari Katz: A♥2♥
Baime was ahead of Katz with his pocket jacks, but the flop of A♣9♠5♦ put him way behind as Katz flopped a pair of aces. The runout of K♠5♣ did not provide him the much-needed jack and he was sent to the exit on the money bubble.

After a preflop betting war, Ken Baime and Grant Juric got all the money into the middle, with Juric at risk of elimination.
Grant Juric: 8♦8♣
Ken Baime: K♥K♦
Baime was in a prime position to burst the bubble with his superior pocket pair, but the flop of J♦J♥8♥ immediately gave Juric the lead with a flopped full house. Baime could still hit a jack or a king to win, but the runout of 2♦Q♥ did not do it and Juric scored a big double-up.

After some back and forth, Greg Raymer and Huan Ho got all the chips into the middle
Greg Raymer: A♠9♦
Huan Ho: K♥K♦
Ho was way ahead on the flop of 10♠9♠4♣, but the turn 7♠ gave Raymer a lot of outs as any ace, nine or spade would give him the win. Unfortunately, the river was a brick 3♣ and Raymer was eliminated from this flight.

Ari Katz opened to 10,000 and was then three-bet to 32,000 by David Danlag. Katz made the call and the two went heads-up to a flop of 3♣7♦7♠.
Katz quickly checked over to Danlag who fired out 35,000, which Katz called.
The turn brought in the A♣ and both players decided to check to the river 6♣, which saw them both check again.
Danlag then flipped over 9♣9♥ for two pair but then Katz rolled over 10♦10♠ for a superior two-pair tp take the pot.

Short-stacked Christian Harder got it all in preflop against David Danlag, with the former at risk.
Christian Harder: Q♠J♠
David Danlag: A♠9♣
The flop came out J♦7♣A♠ to give Harder a pair of jacks but it also gave Danlag top pair of aces to take a big lead. The runout of 3♥8♦ failed to keep Harder alive and he was eliminated while Danlag was pushed the pot.

After an open from Ari Katz and a call from Huan Ho, John Lammle moved all in for around 55,000. Katz made the call to put him at risk while Ho got out of the way.
John Lammle: A♠6♦
Ari Katz: 9♦9♠
The board ran out 8♥10♦10♠Q♥J♠ to give Katz a straight on the river to win the pot and sent Lammle to the rail.
