2023 RGPS Checkpoint Thunder Valley
The players are now on a 75-minute dinner break and will return to action at approximately 7:05 p.m.
On a heads-up completed board of 5♣4♦7♥3♠8♥, the pot already had over 150,000 in it when Michael Abratique set out a bet of 100,000 after a check from Jasvinder Singh.
Singh then went into the tank for a good while before he finally decided to make the call, to which Abratique sighed and showed A♥9♥ for ace-high. Singh then proudly flipped over K♠K♦ to take down the substantial pot and boost him to 540,000.
Even with the loss of this pot, Abratique is still sitting pretty on his healthy stack of 1,225,000.
Ethan "Rampage" Yau opened to 15,000 and then Allen Kessler moved all in for 66,000. Bin Duan made the call but then Yau re-popped it to 155,000 to force a fold from Duan and the cards were tabled.
Allen Kessler: K♦K♥
Ethan Yau: J♥J♠
"Ok, no funny business," Kessler said to the dealer as she spread out a safe flop of 6♦A♣9♣.
But there was no power in Kessler's words as the J♦ spiked on the turn to give Yau a set of jacks for the lead.
"I said no funny business!" Kessler sighed as the board completed with the 6♣ to improve Yau to a full house and he was sent to the rail.
Level: 16
Blinds: 4,000/8,000

On a heads-up turn of Q♥3♦A♥5♣, Shijia Liu had bet 44,000 after a check from Wesley Nally in the small blind, but then Nally check-jammed to cover Liu.
Liu then went deep into the tank to consider his two options, with his tournament life at risk. After a full minute, he pushed the rest of his stack into the middle to make the call.
Nally then grimaced and flipped over J♥J♦ for just a pair of jacks while Liu proudly tabled A♣10♣ for a pair of aces. The board completed with the 3♥ and Liu scooped the pot for a big double-up while the table praised his call.
Sean Drake moved all in preflop and was called by Naga Kakumanu to put his tournament life at risk.
Sean Drake: J♠J♥
Naga Kakumanu: A♥K♠
Drake was ahead on the flop of Q♣9♦10♥, but the turn J♦ was brutal as it gave him a set but it also gave Kakumanu the nut straight. The river3♦ failed to pair the board and Drake was sent to the payout desk as Kakumanu raked in the pot.
Short-stacked David Miller moved all in preflop and was called by big-stack Adam Hannula to put him at risk.
David Miller: 7♣7♥
Adam Hannula: A♥A♠
Miller would need a lot of help to defeat Hannula's rockets, but the board of 2♠4♠2♦3♥8♦ did not do it and he was eliminated.
Allen Kessler has made his first RunGood cash in this $2,500 Million Dollar Main, and he seemed to be very excited about it...
"I just made my first cash!"
Followed by...
"...But I still think I would rather play a [WSOP] Circuit event, there just isn't enough to play every day."
