Better to Be Lucky Than Good
Level 13
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
After a preflop betting war, Baljinder Bhupal and Adam Curchack got all of the chips into the middle, with Bhupal at risk.
Baljinder Bhupal: K♦K♣
Adam Curchack: Q♥Q♦
Although Bhupal had the best of it going into this battle, the flop of Q♠3♥2♣ was not his friend as it immediately gave Curchack the advantage with top set of queens.
Bhupal failed to improve on the 5♣J♣ runout and he was eliminated while Curchack scooped the big pot.
"Gotta get lucky in this game," someone commented, to which Curchack nodded enthusiastically.
