Kong Triples Up; Washington Wins The Side

Level 13 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action was recapped by the table after one player departed from the table, with their chips being chopped up between two players.

On a flop that read {a-}{j-}{8-} all three players got in their final chips with Kwan Kong getting in her final 45,000, and another player getting in over 140,000 with Kent Washington having her covered.

Kwan Kong: {8-}{8-}
Opponent: {j-}{8-}
Kent Washington: {a-}{j-}

The board ran out {10-}{3-} and Kong's set of eights held up for the main pot, while Washington scooped the massive side to eliminate another player in a cooler situation.

Action was picked up with cards on their backs with Doug Parscal having called an all in to put another player at risk in a pot worth 140,000.

Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Doug Parscal: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

"Hold!" his opponent screamed prior to the cards being dealt. His cries remained unanswered on the {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} runout that gave Parscal threes full of aces, giving him the double up as he said "good game," to his opponent, taking in the pot.

The fourth annual Global Poker Awards, presented by the Global Poker Index, took place at the PokerGO Studio Friday night with 27 trophies handed out, including Hustler Casino Live predictably winning Favorite Live Stream.

Angela Jordison (lead picture) was also one of the big winners on the night even though she narrowly lost out on GPI Female Player of the Year to Cherish Andrews.

Jordison, a long-time cash game player in Oregon, took down the Breakout Player of the Year award, deserved recognition for a year in which she cashed for nearly $600,000 in live tournaments, including a career best $151,544 score for third place in a $1,000 no-limit hold'em tournament at the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

If you thought her 2022 run was a fluke, she's already proven that inaccurate as Jordison has racked up $137,000 in cashes thus far in 2023, according to Hendon Mob.
