The surviving 5 players are now on a quick 10-minute break and will return to action shortly.
Short-stacked Brendan Wiley moved all in preflop and was called by Steve Hoang to put him at risk.
Brendan Wiley: 7♣7♦
Steve Hoang: A♣3♣
Wiley was ahead going into this bout with his sevens, but an ace appeared right on the flop of 6♦A♥K♠ to give Hoang the lead. No sevens appeared on the 8♥3♦ runout to save Wiley and he was therefore eliminated in sixth place.
On a heads-up completed board of qc9ckc5c7c], there was around 350,000 in the middle and Derrick Yamada was first to act.
He thought long and hard about his decision, and eventually assembled a stack of 720,000 and set it into the middle.
Steve Hoang then sat up quickly to asses the situation...
"How much do you have behind?" he asked Yamada, who revealed to have only around 200,000 behind.
After a few more seconds, Hoang tossed his cards into the muck to award the pot to Yamada.
The action was missed on the hand, but Randy Shamo and Steve Hoang got it all in preflop, with Shamo at risk.
Randy Shamo: K♦10♦
Steve Hoang: A♣3♣
According to the table, the board wound up double-pairing and Hoang took down the pot with ace-high while Shamo was sent to the rail.
Level: 22
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
Before the flop, Anastasia Knapp and Maurice Thomas got all their chips into the middle, with Knapp at risk.
Anastasia Knapp: 5♦5♣
Maurice Thomas: A♥A♦
Knapp was going to need a lot of help to survive this one, but unfortunately, the runout of 2♣Q♥K♥6♣K♦ did her no favors and she was eliminated in 8th place.
Brendan Wiley moved all in under-the-gun for his last 150,000 and was called by Derrick Yamada and Steve Hoang to put him at risk.
Yamada and Hoang checked through to the river [5h7sjsjc4] and Yamada then led out for 300,000. This produced a fold from Hoang and Yamada tabled K♠Q♠ for a rivered flush, but it was no good as Wiley flipped over 4♥4♦ for a rivered full house to take the pot for a triple-up.
