McEwen Shown the Nuts

Kirk Brown
Kirk Brown
Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of 4♣5♥7♣8♥, Preston McEwen checked to Hyun Lee who bet 22,000. McEwen made the call to see the 9♥ fall on the river and he decided to lead out for 43,000.

Lee paused for a second and then announced he was all-in, covering McEwen who went into the tank.

After several moments, McEwen decided to make the call but was then shown A♥2♥ by Lee for the backdoor stone-cold nuts while he showed 7♠9♣ for a rivered two-pair.

The pot was then shipped to Lee while McEwen exited the tournament area, vowing to return tomorrow.
