McGarity Busts Two Before Dinner

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player in the cutoff raised to 2,600 and Mark McGarity called from the button before the big blind shoved for 7,600. Both players called and action was three ways.

The flop was 108Q and the cutoff shoved his remaining chips. McGarity called without hesitation and the cards were all turned up.

Big Blind: 22 All in
Cutoff: 108 All in
Mark McGarity: Q8

The cutoff had two pair, but McGarity has the better two. The board finished up 4K to seal the deal and send both players to the rail just before dinner.

"That Was a Horrible River!"

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was heads up with over 10,000 in the middle and J106 on the board when Deborah Miller fired 30,000 into a shove for 51,600 from Mark McGarity. Miller gave it a few moments of thought before she looked him up with exact change.

Mark McGarity: AA All in
Deborah Miller: J10

The board finished up with 5 on the turn and 6 on the river, giving McGarity aces and sixes to beat Miller's flopped two pair.

"That was a horrible river!" Miller said as the dealer mucked her hand and pushed the double to McGarity.

Last Time in Jacksonville

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Antwan Prince
Antwan Prince

The RunGood Poker Series is back in Jacksonville, after a debut stop in 2023. Last year’s RGPS Jacksonville Main Event saw Antwan Prince take down the title after the final four remaining players agreed to a deal. Prince locked up $92,796, along with the bestbet trophy and the RunGood Series ring.

It easily marked the largest score of Prince’s career, despite entering Day 2 with one of the shorter stacks in the room and reaching the final table fourth in chips. The rest of the four-way deal and other final table payouts are listed below.

Brian Winter Maintains RGPS Player of the Year Lead

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Brian Winter
Brian Winter

As the Destination RunGood heads into spring, Shaun Emery has slightly closed the gap as he chases down Brian Winter atop the RGPS Player of the Year Race powered by the Global Poker Index.

Winter sits just shy of 2,000 points, while Emery is the only other competitor with more than 1,000 heading into this week’s action at bestbet Jacksonville.

How it works:

  • Leaderboard Points: Players will score points based on their performance in RunGood Poker Series events by the Global Poker Index ranking system.
  • Five Winners: The tally started on August 29th, 2023, and end June 1st, 2024. The top five players on the leaderboard will win a seat in the 2024 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship and a $500 travel stipend.
  • Immortality: The top player will be featured forever on tour with a RunGood Player of the Year banner.

Henson Chips Up With a Knockout

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Ray Henson
Ray Henson

Action was heads up with around 5,000 in the middle and 5949 on the board when Marcus Schilling check-called a 2,000 bet from Ray Henson. The river was 10 and Schilling checked again, this time to see Henson bet 10,000. Schilling went into the tank for a few moments before he thought better of it and gave up the pot.

On the next hand, Henson bet 1,600 and a player in the big blind called. The flop was 8K2 and Henson's opponent check-called a bet of 1,000 to see 6 on the turn. Henson's opponent checked again and then shoved when the RGPS Ambassador tossed out 3,800. Henson looked him up and turned over 54 with his opponent showing K9.

The river was A and Henson picked up the flush, the pot, and the elimination.
