No Re-Morse as McConnell Ousted

Arlan Morse opened from under the gun and Kyle McConnell three-bet jammed from a few seats over to bring a fold from Morse. The next hand, McConnell opened to 3,500 and Morse defended in the big blind.

Morse checked on the flop of 3♠Q♠2♥ and McConnell continued for 3,000. Morse check-raised to 9,000 and McConnell called. Morse then bet 15,000 on the 5♣ turn and snap-called as McConnell raised all in.

McConnell was drawing to just two outs and couldn't hit as the 6♣ bricked off to mark his elimination.

Daniel "Donk" Hughes has been running hot throughout Day 1a and his RunGood has continued as he was seen eliminating Brandon Nuss a few seats to his left.

The losing hand had been flipped and the board washed, but Hughes held AxKx and told the table that he had flopped his opponent dead.

"It's been a while since I've flopped somebody dead!" he remarked.

Roberts Gets Greedy

In a heads-up pot on a board of 6♦10♣5♥Q♠, Shannan Roberts checked and Rodney Spriggs bet 7,500. Roberts called.

Roberts checked again on the 9♣ turn and Spriggs contemplated a bet size before putting out a single red 5,000-chip. "I don't want to be greedy," he said.

Roberts responded by check-raising all in for around 15,000 and Spriggs called. Roberts showed 5♣5♠ for a set of fives to beat out the K♦Q♣ of Spriggs.

"I was being greedy," Roberts said with a grin.
