Seven on the River Sends Mondegari to the Rail

Kirk Brown

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Short-stacked Ken Mondegari had less than a big blind when he moved all in preflop for 17,000 and was called by Hans Schacke and Johnny Groat.

Schacke and Groat checked through the board of 2♦3♣3♦5♠7♥ and the hands were tabled.

Ken Mondegari: A♦8♠
Hans Schacke: 4♠7♣
Johnny Groat: 9♣7♦

Schacke and Groat both hit a seven on the river, but Groat's nine-kicker played to award hin the pot, eliminating Mondegari.
