A total of 118 players came out to play the first day of The RunGood Resort $1,000 Main Event at Jack Casino in Cleveland, Ohio. After almost 11 hours of play, the field was finally cut down to 14 players that bagged up to continue the journey onward to Day 2.
Leading the way is WSOP bracelet winner Katie Kopp who ended their day with 489,000 after busting out Jon ‘Boston’ Lewis on the stone bubble with pocket kings versus pocket jacks. She was off to a hot start early after max-late-rigging and immediately doubled up when she cracked aces with pockets tens.
Hot on her heels is David Berman who has half a million in live tournament earnings and is looking to pad his stats with another big score in this Main Event.
