Kopp Spikes the River to Double

Action was picked up on the turn in a hand between former champion Joshua Kopp from the small blind and Varun Uppal from early position.

With the board reading 10♦7♠6♥3♠, Kopp jammed for his last 15,500 and Uppal decided to call as the covering stack.

Uppal was ahead with top pair but Kopp held the nut flush draw and overs. The dealer peeled the J♦ on the river to give Kopp the winner as he found the full double.

Phan Picks Off Bawa with Great Hero Call

Keerat Bawa opened the hijack to 1,600 before Nam Phan three-bet to 5,000 from the big blind, and Bawa called.

On the Q♦8♣6♣ flop, Phan continued for 3,200 and Bawa called.

The turn brought the 10♣. Phan slowed down with a check before Bawa fired for 7,000 and Phan stuck around.

On the K♦ river, Phan checked again to Bawa who emptied the clip as she jammed for 20,300. Phan went deep into the tank for a little over a minute before he tossed in the call.

Phan made the correct call with effectively third pair to score the knockout and become the largest stack in the room so far.

Buller Doubles Through Vogler

Scott Buller opened to 2,200 from early position and was called by the cutoff. On the button, Eric Vogler three-bet to 7,000 before Buller jammed for 15,900. The cutoff swiftly folded while Vogler begrudgingly put in the call.

Varun Uppal opened to 1,500 from under the gun and was called by the player next to act. In the hijack, Mark Fink three-bet to 5,000 and Nacoties Floyd cold-called in the cutoff. With the action back on Uppal, he jammed for an even 30,000. Fink folded while Floyd quickly put in the call.
