Hernandez had flopped a set of eights but Slezak still had outs with a flush draw. Hernandez was able to avoid a spade as the board ran out 5♥, J♥, earning him the double up.
This wasn't the first time Hernandez and Slezak went toe-to-toe, as Hernandez took down the $400 Black Chip Bounty NLH Ring Event las night with Slezak finishing runner-up.
