Day 1bc Completed
All three starting flights are now in the books as Day 1bc action has come to a close in the $800 Main Event here at the RunGood Poker Series Grand Prix hosted by Horseshoe Council Bluffs. Day 1bc saw a huge turnout, with a combined total of 299 entries being tallied, 36 of which have locked up a min-cash and will return on Day 2.
The afternoon flight drew a lot of action, attracting 181 runners with 22 players finding a bag for Sunday. Richard Terry ascended to the top of the counts, bagging an impressive 570,000 - good for second in the overall standings heading into Sunday. Terry flew under the radar for most of the day, quietly chipping up during the last few levels of play.
The evening flight saw a total of 118 entries, with 14 making it through to Day 2. Mike Fouts, who is no stranger to the RunGood tour, bagged the overwhelming chip lead with 747,000. Fouts has won three RGPS rings, with his biggest score dating back to 2018 when he took down the $560 RGPS Council Bluffs Main Event for $36,780.

Father-and-son duo Bob Slezak, who owns a piece of WSOP hardware, and Brett Slezak, who is often seen working on the media side of poker, both scored early double-ups, but neither managed to bag for Day 2.
World Series of Poker bracelet winners Mo Nuwwarah and TJ Murphy were in the mix throughout the day, but neither could generate any momentum.
PokerNews Ambassador Keith Becker built up a sizable stack during the middle-to-late stages of the day but was eliminated with four tables remaining, just shy of the money.
Some other notables who made appearances but couldn't find a bag for Sunday include husband-and-wife duo Steven Wampler and Dee Wampler, Marvin Donaldson who stone bubbled the Day 1a flight, and Papa Karn who is Tana Karn's father.
The remaining 46 players who qualified will return for Day 2 on Sunday, November 23 at 12:00 p.m. local time, where the tournament will play down to a winner. Action will resume in Level 13 with blinds at 3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante and levels will be 40-minutes in length. A 15-minute break will occur at the end of every three levels.

The final 22 players of Day 1b are bagging up for the night and will return for Day 2 on Sunday, November 23 at 12:00 p.m. local time where the event will play down to a winner.
Stay tuned to PokerNews for end of day chip counts and a recap of the day's action.
Action went six-ways to a flop of 10♦2♥2♠ in a limped pot with the player in the big blind forced all in. It checked around to the player in middle position who bet 20,000 and Craig Welko raised it up to 60,000. Middle position decided to step aside.
Big blind: Q♠4♠
Craig Welko: J♦2♦
Welko had flopped trip deuces, leaving the big blind nearly drawing dead. The 7♥ turn and 6♦ river offered no help to the big blind and he was sent to the rail on the stone bubble.
