Backpack Trick Works For Sabia
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
John Twyman raised to 2,400 under the gun before an early-position player three-bet to 9,500. Matthew Sabia then moved all in for 38,000 in the big blind, Twyman called, and the early-position player got out of the way.
Matthew Sabia: Q♦Q♣
John Twyman: K♦K♣
Sabia saw his queens were crushed by Twyman's kings and quickly stood up from his seat and put his backpack on prepared to make his exit. The flop, though, brought Q♥3♠3♦ to give him a full house and the lead. The rest of the board ran out 8♠9♦ and Sabia sat back down and accepted his double up.
"As soon as you did that, I knew it was coming," Kyle Dishongh, watching the action from another table, said.
"I tried that earlier and it didn't work," Sabia replied.
