Jeremy Gaubert

The first RunGood Poker Series stop in New Orleans since 2015 crowned a champion earlier this month, with Jeremy Gaubert outlasting the 307-entry field in the RGPS Grand Prix New Orleans $800 Main Event.

While Gaubert has been grinding live tournaments in the South for over 15 years, this was only his third cash at a RunGood event and he made sure to make it count, claiming his first RunGood ring and the top prize of $45,897.

“Feeling good," Gaubert told PokerNews following the win. "I just got second place in Coushatta like three weeks ago. Took a bad beat heads-up. So this was a good feeling to finally win it.”

Tynes Caught Speeding

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Reggie Tynes opened the action with a limp from under the gun before Richard Gebhart opted to raise to 1,100 from the next seat over.

Gebhart was called by Coulter Conner in late position and Terry Pressley in the big blind before Tynes chose to play for more as he jammed all-in for 15,000. Gebhart put in the call as Conner and Pressley folded.

Tynes announced that it was his favorite hand as Gebhart held the lead before the runout.

Tynes hit the flop, but so did Gebhart as the dealer spread out 7J4 to keep Gebhart in the lead.

The Q turn and the 9 river brought no surprises.

Green Lives to Fight Another Day

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

An opponent opened from under the gun to 800 and was called in the next seat over before Ron Green completed from the small blind.

The flop came 67Q before Ron Green chose to commit the final 2,000 chips of his stack with an all-in. The under-the-gun player folded before the next seat over made the call to put Green at risk.

Green had the best of it when the cards hit their backs as his opponent complimented him for having the best hand before they went to a runout.

The board ran out 3 and 3 to award Green the much-needed double.

Conner Wouldn't Go Away

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Coulter Conner opened the action from the hijack when he raised to 500. Conner got action from the big blind, who called and sent them to a flop.

The dealer spread out 28J on the flop. Conner fired 500 after it was checked to him before the big blind opted to check-raise to 1,500. Conner flicked in the call.

The 8 turn led to a bet of 2,500, which was once again called by Conner.

The aggression continued on the river when the A peeled. The big blind put out a bet of 6,500. Conner gave it some thought before he put out a call. His opponent said, "I got nothing" as Conner tabled QQ to scoop the pot.

Stanfield Scores Early Knockout

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

It didn't take long for Jon Stanfield to score the first knockout of the RGPS Grand Prix $800 Main Event when he got entangled in a hand early as the two players got into a bidding war preflop.

Stanfield and his opponent escalated the situation to play for keeps as the players got the chips in preflop after a series of raises with his opponent at risk for his tournament life.

Stanfield received welcoming news as the flop fanned out K59 to put Stanfield well ahead of his opponent. The inconsequential 8 and 3 completed the board as Stanfield enjoyed an early boon in the opening minutes of the main event.
