Fowler Back for More

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Mary Fowler
Mary Fowler

Mary Fowler was one of the short stacks who advanced from Day 1a late last night at approximately 2 a.m. However, with only 40,000 in her bag, Fowler is back this morning for another crack at advancing to Day 2 with, hopefully, a much larger stack to work with.

Rix Finds a Baby Flush

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Carson Ray raised it up from under the gun and Phillip Rix called on the button. The flop came KJ10 and Ray check-called a bet of 500 from Rix.

The J paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the A on the river. Ray checked once more and Rix put together a bet of 3,500. Ray looked him up and Rix turned over 54 for a small flush to beat the AQ of Ray.

Day 1bc Slated to be Packed with Action

After a solid turnout for the opening flight of the $600 Main Event last night, the numbers are expected to be through the roof for Day 1bc today at the 2025 RunGood Poker Series Grand Prix Tunica II. The Horseshoe Casino Tunica is playing host to the series that boasts a $200,000 guaranteed prizepool on the marquee tournament this weekend.

Nearly half of that number was reached on Day 1a with a whopping 184 entries recorded. There were just 23 players remaining at the night's end, all of whom will return on Day 2 and in the money. The biggest stack to advance from the opening day belonged to Mike Cordell with 538,000 chips. Other notables included Chris Moneymaker (202,000), Cody Stanford (190,000), and Matthew Higgins (150,000).

The rest of the players will have two more attempts today at making to the all-important Sunday of the tournament. The morning flight, Day 1b, will be getting underway at 11 a.m. local time. Later on in the day, Day 1c will kick off at 6 p.m. Both flights will be playing down to that elusive 12.5% of the field (rounded down). Any players making it through to Day 2 will be considered in the money.

A $600 entry for this event will grant you a starting stack of 30,000 chips. The blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante and the levels will be 30 minutes in the starting flights. There will be a 15-minute break after every four levels with no dinner break scheduled at this time.

The registration period will be open until the start of level nine for each of the flights today. An unlimited number of reentries is permitted during that time. Players are able to play multiple starting flights and bag up multiple stacks, but only their best stack will be brought forward to Day 2. Just a reminder that there will be flip 'n go satellites taking place throughout the day at the price of $65, based on demand.

The PokerNews team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates from the morning flight and then return to cover the bubble for the evening flight.
