McEwen Folds Kings Face Up

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Preston McEwen
Preston McEwen

PokerNews caught up with Preston McEwen who was involved in a hand during the previous level where he ended up folding pocket kings preflop.

According to McEwen, he opened with a raise to 12,000 in the hijack, the cutoff flatted, and the button three-bet to 36,000. McEwen then four-bet to 82,000, prompting the cutoff to get out of the way. The button then came over the top and five-bet jammed for about 285,000. McEwen then thought through his decision and elected to fold the cowboys face up, for the first time in his life. The button ended up flashing an ace to keep McEwen guessing.

Little pulled ahead on the AK8 flop, pairing his king. The 8 fell on the turn and White was all but out until the 4 landed on the river to keep her tournament hopes alive.
