Action went four-ways to a flop of 3♣4♦K♣ in a hand between the under-the-gun player, Justin Goree in early position, Richard Travis in the hijack, and the player on the button.
Under the gun checked, Goree bet 3,000, and everyone called, bringing the Q♠ turn.
Under the gun checked again, Goree bet 4,000, Travis called, the button folded, and under the gun called.
On the A♠ river, it checked over to Travis who bet 6,000, prompting under the gun to get out of the way. Goree thought for a moment before reluctantly making the call only to see the bad news when Travis tabled 3♠3♦ for a set of treys.
The RunGood Poker Series returns to the banks of the mighty Mississippi River here at Horseshoe Tunica, with Day 1a of the RGPS Grand Prix $600 Main Event kicking off at 6:00 p.m. local time. The tournament features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, with three Day 1 starting flights taking place over two days. Players who advance from each flight will combine and return for Day 2 on Sunday, September 7, where a winner will be crowned.
The last time the RGPS made a stop in Tunica was back in March for the 2025 Mission RunGood Series, where the main event generated a whopping $278,460 prize pool. Cody Stanford topped a field of 546 entrants in front of a hometown crowd to capture his eighth RGPS ring, along with the top prize of $53,988.
The Mississippi native final tabled three events at the RGPS Grand Prix Southern Indiana just a couple weeks ago and will look to continue that momentum this weekend in hopes of defending his title.

Players will begin each starting flight with 30,000 in chips and blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Blinds will be 30 minutes in length during the open registration period (Levels 1-8) and will increase to 40 minutes after late registration closes (Level 9 and beyond). At the completion of Level 8, players may forfeit their stack and reenter for $600.
Should a player choose to play multiple Day 1 flights, only the highest qualifying stack will be permitted to continue to Day 2. Any lower stack(s) will be removed from play at the start of Day 2 and receive a min-cash.
Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 12.5% of the field (rounded down) remains and those who bag will be in the money. Day 2 will then start at the earliest blind level of the three flights on Sunday, September 7, where the event will play down to a winner.
