Welcome to the 2025 RGPS Mission RunGood Council Bluffs $800 Main Event
Welcome to Day 1a of the $800 Main Event here at the 2025 RGPS Mission RunGood Council Bluffs, which kicks off at 6 p.m. local time. A total of 12 ring events have been scheduled in this week's action at Horseshoe Council Bluffs, but everyone has their sights set on this prestigious main event with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.
Last time around in November of 2024, a field of 403 runners created a prize pool of $282,100. Once the dust settled, it was Iowa's Abbas Pasha who took home the title along with $58,735 in prize money after defeating Julie Cornelius in an exciting heads-up battle, highlighted by a superb hero-call from Pasha for almost all the chips.

Almost all of the guarantees during this week's action have been doubled, so an impressive turnout is expected for the main event. Along with today's Day 1a, players will have two additional opportunities to bag tomorrow, with flights at both 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Many of the area's finest players will be in the action this weekend, including two-time RunGood Council Bluffs champion Derrick Plumage, WSOP bracelet winners Mo Nuwwarah and Bob Slezak, three-time MSPT champion Nick Barksdale, and the current first-place in the 2024/2025 RunGood leaderboard Michael Johns.
Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 in starting chips with blinds at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Levels will last 30 minutes each today for the first eight levels and 40 minutes thereafter with a 15-minute break at the conclusion of every two hours of play.
Registration remains open through the first eight levels, until approximately 10:30 p.m. Play will continue until there is 12.5% of the field left at which point the players will bag up for Day 2 on Sunday, April 27.
