Late Night Double for rf8mitu

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
rf8mitu
rf8mitu

rf8mitu three-bet jammed his short stack of 41,000 preflop and was called by the initial raiser with the A7. His A10 was ahead and both players paired their kicker on the 1076 flop.

There was no further surprise on the 5 turn and 9 river to secure the double-up.

JBJ On the Losing End Again

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

JBJ three-bet to 26,000 and the initial raiser called. On the KQ6 flop, they both checked and his opponent led the J turn for 35,000 for JBJ to call. The 6 river went check, check, and JBJ couldn't beat A6. That very same player then took a massage for the remainder of today - slightly more than half an hour - so we shall get the name upon bagging and tagging.

A Double and More for MORISUN

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
MORISUN
MORISUN

MORISUN was all-in for 52,500 with the A2 and in need of help, as his kicker was dominated by A7. The K55 flop and 4 turn gave some options for a chop or wheel, but instead he spiked the 2 on the river. MORISUN then raised to 11,000 and earned two callers. They checked down the 98727 board and his 44 was good enough to win the next pot.

JBJ Recovers Some Losses

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
JBJ
JBJ

After the most recent table broke up on the stage with now fewer than 56 players still in the mix, JBJ arrived with far fewer chips back in the field. He made up for some of his previous losses when 88 had a mighty sweat against A7 in a preflop all-in, as the K43 flop showed three hearts.

However, none followed on the 2 turn and Q river to send the chips over to JBJ.

Make That Three in a Row for Hoyeon

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Hoyeon
Hoyeon

A shorter stack jammed for around 65,000 with the A8 and Hoyeon called in the next seat holding the AA. The J9844 board kept the aces ahead and Hoyeon notched up the second knockout in quick succession.

And shortly after, he made it three in a row when 88 took on A10. This time, it was in style as the 98586 runout delivered quads!

Nearly 1,500 Entries and Counting

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Tournament Area
Tournament Area

While Day 1c has reached the business end of the flight in the penultimate level with fewer than 60 players left out of a field of 406 entries, the final turbo heat is still going strong and increasing in size. Mid-way through level seven, some 268 entries are recorded so far with around 168 players left.

That puts the overall tally just shy of 1,500 entries and that will be certainly surpassed within the next hour.

Yutaka Earns Some Chips Back

Picking up the action on the 7329 turn, Yutaka bet 25,000 when checked to and his table neighbour check-called. They ended up checking the 8 on the river and Yutaka was shown the 55 for a pair of fives, which he had beat holding the QQ for an overpair to the board.

Gooya Eliminated in Flip by Hoyeon

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Armin Gooya
Armin Gooya

It was a classic preflop flip for Armin Gooya that put the tournament life on the line for the local resident hailing originally from California. He was in there with the AK and Hoyeon looked him up with the JJ.

The board remained low on 76529 and that spelled the end for Gooya.

"Can't win them all," he said on the way out.

kumajiro Bad Beats Ryuichiro

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
kumajiro
kumajiro

Right before the blinds went up, one of the largest preflop clashes of the tournament to date had Ryuichiro on the verge of potentially taking over the chip lead for this flight when kumajiro was at risk for more than 230,000.

kumajiro: AQ All in
Ryuichiro: AK

The inferior kicker paired up right away on the Q88 flop and kumajiro remained ahead throughout the 4 turn as well as the 9 river to put a huge dagger into the stack of Ryuichiro.
