Alex Phahurat was all in for 81,000, with Adam Todd putting him at risk.
Alex Phahurat: Q♥J♣
Adam Todd: A♣K♥
It was a fair fight, but Phahurat would need to improve to stay in the tournament. However, he was unable to do so once the board ran out 3♦4♣9♦9♥10♥ and the ace-king of Todd took the pot, sending Phahurat to the rail.
Action was picked up with Michael Bohnhoff all in and Justin Brevik putting him at risk.
Michael Bohnhoff: A♣Q♥
Justin Brevik: K♠K♥
Bohnhoff ran into the pocket kings of Brevik, and was unable to improve past them once the board ran out 10♥6♦9♥9♦2♠ giving Brevik the pot as Bohnhoff was sent to the payout desk.
Action was picked up with Chad Courtney all in for 117,000, and Stephen Joseph putting him at risk.
Chad Courtney: A♦Q♣
Stephen Joseph: A♥K♥
Joseph had Courtney dominated, and once the board ran out J♦10♥8♦8♥8♣ the ace-king of Joseph remained best, giving him the pot and eliminating Courtney.
Action folded to Iman Alsaden in the small and raised all in for their stack of 110,000, which was called by the big blind Adam Todd to put them at risk.
Iman Alsaden: A♠6♦
Adam Todd: K♣Q♥
Alsaden was in front with ace high, and once the board ran out 6♥2♥2♣7♥8♦ they improved to two pair, sixes and deuces to secure the double up.
Action folded to John Lopez in middle position who raised to 15,000, before it folded to Colin Arnold in the hijack, who three-bet all in for his stack of 40,000. It folded back to Lopez who made the call to put Arnold at risk.
Colin Arnold: K♦J♦
John Lopez: A♥10♠
Lopez was in front with his ace high, but when the board ran out Q♠6♥8♣K♠K♥ Arnold improved to trip kings to secure the double up.

After Day 1a, the smallest of the Day 1 flights with just 57 entrants, only seven players advanced to Day 2. Despite the smaller field, Todd Tucker managed to bag a sizable chip stack, finishing at the top of the leaderboard after bursting the money bubble with quads. He will enter Day 2 ranked third overall in chips. A bit of ways behind Tucker in second was Victor Harris (315,000), with Timothy Black (290,000) following close behind in third.
Daniel Lowery, a RGPS ambassador with 18 WSOP Circuit rings, similarly to Tucker, added a significant boost to his stack on the final hand of the night in Day 1b. He burst the money bubble after flopping a full house with pocket fives, eliminating his opponent’s pocket queens, and heading into Day 2 just shy of the overall chip lead. With a total of 103 entrants, 12 players secured their spots for Day 2. Doug Glasscock (590,000) also bagged a top 10 chip stack in this flight, finishing in second, with John Lopez (343,000) rounding out the top three for Day 1b.
Aaron Palmer, who on Day 1c claimed he had never bagged up for a Day 2 before, ended up sitting at the top of the leaderboard by the end of the day, positioning himself in the top five for the final day. Palmer notably accumulated most of his chips when he and another player both flopped the nut straight, only for Palmer to capitalize on his freeroll and river a flush. He topped a field of 146 entrants, with 18 advancing to Day 2.
Day 1d, the largest of the four flights, saw a total of 190 entrants, with 23 players advancing to Day 2. The larger field allowed Adam Todd to overtake the overall chip lead heading into Day 2. Also advancing from this flight is RGPS ambassador Jeffrey Copeland.
