Place Wins Monster Pot
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Action went four-ways to a flop of 8♦9♥6♣ where Hanson Nguyen led out with a bet of 5,000 in middle position. Sophie Le called in the hijack and Johnnie Place called in the cutoff.
On the 7♣ turn, Nguyen slowed down with a check, Le bet 17,000, and Place made it 60,000 to go. Only Le continued to see the 2♦ river.
Le checked and Place moved all in to put Le at risk, who quickly called, only to see the bad news that her Ax10x was no good against Place's J♦10♥, who had a higher straight.
