The first of six starting flights is in the books in the $300 PokerNews PowerStack Mystery Bounty here at the RunGood Poker Series Golden Expedition Dallas hosted by Palace Poker. Of the 82 entries tallied in Day 1a, only 10 players will return for Day 2 on Sunday, all of whom have locked up a min-cash.
Mark Fisher (933,000) emerged as the overwhelming chip leader in the opening flight, bagging nearly as many chips as Shannon Eason (482,000) and Ethan Wilson (456,000) combined, who finished second and third, respectively. The Texas native has over $400,000 in lifetime career earnings according to The Hendon Mob, and will look to put his massive stack to use on Day 2 in search of Mystery Bounties.

Cino Earns the Unfortunate Title of Bubble Boy
Fisher padded his stack on the final hand of the night when he spiked a three-outer on the river to burst the bubble. He got it all in with ace-queen against the short-stacked Colton Cino, who was in great shape to double up with ace-king. Cino was unable to punch his ticket into Day 2, and exited on the stone bubble in dramatic fashion.
Day 1b and 1c will take place on Friday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively, while the final three flights are scheduled for Saturday.
Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 12.5% of the field (rounded down) remains and those who bag will be in the money. Day 2 will then start at the earliest blind level of the six flights on Sunday, August 16, where the event will play down to a winner.

Colton Cino moved all in for a little less than ten big blinds on the button and was called by Mark Fisher in the big blind.

The flop came J♥3♠7♦ with Cino's Big Slick still in the lead. He was in great shape to double up after the A♦ turn, but Fisher spiked the Q♣ on the river to send Cino packing on the stone bubble.

Justin Rath limped under the gun, Kyler Scheriger completed in the small blind, and Mark Fisher checked in the big blind.
The flop came 8♠10♣7♣ and it checked to Rath, who moved all in for about 50,000. Scheriger quickly called and Fisher folded.

Scheriger flopped the nut straight but Rath picked up outs to a boat on the 10♦ turn. The 9♥ rolled off on the river, giving Rath a straight as well to chop it up.

Thomas Pepe was in the big blind and got it all in with the covering stack on a flop of 6♣9♥8♥ against Ting Chi, who was under the gun.

Pepe flopped the straight and Chi couldn't improve as the board ran out K♣, K♥.
Ryan Kephart was eliminated on the other table shortly after, bringing the field down to 11. With only 10 making it through to Day 2, hand-for-hand play has been announced.

Justin Rath open-shoved for about 45,000 from under the gun and was called by Kyler Scheriger on the button, who covered.

Scheriger improved to a set on the Q♦J♠10♣ flop, leaving Rath in bad shape. The K♥ landed on the turn and Scheriger mentioned the possibility of a chop.
He regretted saying anything when the 9♣ fell on the river, putting a straight on the board to keep Rath's tournament hopes alive.

: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Joshua McCarley raised to 20,000 from under the gun and Ethan Wilson flatted in the cutoff.
On the 9♦9♠3♦ flop, McCarley continued with a bet of 20,000 and Wilson called, bringing the 4♣ turn, where both players checked.
McCarley checked again on the 10♦ river and Wilson fired out a bet of 70,000. McCarley flashed the A♦ before tossing his cards into the muck.
