Lowery Already Adding to His RGPS Ring Total
Back in March, the Dallas stop of the RunGood Poker Series Passport Season saw Daniel Lowery capture his 12th RGPS title and the top-prize of just over $100,000. It was Lowery's second ring of that series, and it did not take long to add another victory in his return to Palace Poker this week.
Lowery has great memories of his big week in the spring, and spoke about his Main Event win with PokerNews today.
"It was just a great week being here with RunGood, because we like to come to new places and Tana always tries to get me to come to one of the new places and I hadn't been to Dallas in a while before that. It's been a while, so I get to see a lot of old faces that I know and that was fun."
Lowery feels that the welcoming environment at this venue has contributed to his recent success, which continued with another ring earlier this week.
"I know a lot of people down here and any time that I'm having a good time, I feel like I play better, you know. Anytime I'm comfortable in a spot, I usually show really good results and that’s what kind of brought me back, really. I came down here Sunday, and Sunday night I got second in the Big O, and Monday I win a ring, so that tells you enough."
Lowery captured the 6-Max event for just under $7,500, adding to his lead atop the RunGood Poker Series all-time money list. That gave him an early look at the new RGPS season ring, as the Golden Expedition kicked off here in Dallas.
"I think I've got one each season. They're all really cool, you know, I couldn't tell you which one's my favorite. This one's really, I like this one and it's really nice."
Lowery plans to make another deep run in the Main Event, starting with the opening flights today.
"What I'm hoping to do today is just go ahead and build a good stack, bag it, and take a couple days off, enjoy time with some friends down here."
