Schumacher Speeds to Victory
Level 13
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Matthew Schumacher opened to 12,000 in middle position and Mario Mendoza jammed all in for 71,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Schumacher who flicked in a chip to make the call.
Mario Mendoza: A♥Q♦
Matthew Schumacher: J♠J♦
The flop came A♣J♣10♦ and despite flopping a set of jacks, Schumacher still had to sweat the runout as Mendoza had a straight draw. The 5♦ on the turn was a brick and the 3♦ on the river also left Schumacher with the winning hand.
