The Hunt for the Title is On as Day 2 Gets Underway

A massive $250,000 guaranteed prize pool was put forth for the 2026 RunGood Golden Expedition Houston $600 Main Event. After a total of six starting flights at Champions Club Texas, it has been confirmed that the guarantee was reached early this morning in the final turbo flight. A milestone that tournament organizers are ecstatic about, given the slow start to the weekend.

Now the attention turns to the remaining 49 players who will be returning to the felt for Day 2 with their sights set on the RunGood Poker Series title and the coveted ring that comes with it. The largest portion of the prizepool will be laid out for the final table, and the official prizes will be confirmed just before Day 2 gets underway.

Some of the big stacks who will be in the most favorable position include the overall chip leader Matthew Schumacher. Despite just having a few tournament results under his belt, Schumacher bagged the largest stack of 1,480,000 chips. He will be joined by the likes of Drake Kemper (1,055,000), and RGPS ambassador Alexandra Loveless (1,035,000).

The cards are scheduled to go in the ait at 2 p.m. local time but there is a chance that could be slightly delayed due to wrapping up the morning turbo flight. The blinds will be rolled back to the earliest finishing time of all the starting flights, which has been level 18 at 10,000/20,000 and a 20,000 big blind ante.

The levels will continue to be 30 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every four levels. Once the final table is reached, the levels will be increased to 40 minutes until a winner is crowned. The final table will also be live-streamed on the Champions Club YouTube channel with a 60-minute delay.
