Bates Bops Cecil to Pop Bubble
Level 17
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 6,000 ante
Ryan Cecil jammed on the button for approximately 73,000 and was called by Matthew Bates from the big blind as Cecil was at risk on the bubble.
Ryan Cecil: Q♠10♠
Matthew Bates: 7♣4♦
Cecil was ahead preflop, but the flop gave Bates the best hand when it came J♠A♦4♠. Cecil was not down and out, as he had his overcards plus the flush draw working for him with two cards left.
The 7♥ turn gave Bates two pair and eliminated some of Cecil's outs, as he was left with just the spades to win the pot.
The 10♦ river was not enough, as Cecil was eliminated on the bubble.
