Sean Doyle Finishes Flight as Day 1c Chip Leader
The fourth starting flight of the RunGood Poker Series Golden Expedition Lake Erie $600 Main Event hosted 81 entries, which resulted in nine players earning the opportunity to advance to Day 2 and continue the chase for a title, ring, and the biggest chunk of the $200,000 guarantee at the Lake Erie Poker Room.
Sean Doyle (812,000) outdid the rest as their performance resulted in him finishing at the top of the heap as Day 1d chip leader. David Hanna (598,000) finished with the second most chips of any player from the fourth opening flight, and Ronald Bell (533,000) rounded out the podium.

After bagging, Doyle has cashed at a RunGood event for the first time in his poker career. Doyle began to build his stack late on Day 1d when he gained traction after taking a significant pot from William Kopp when Doyle’s ace-king held against Kopp. Doyle would take another bite out of Kopp when he got river value with his two pair to rise to the top of the chip counts at the time. Doyle would then go on to eliminate another Kopp in the tournament when he showed Kate Kopp the exit as he bested both Kopp siblings throughout Day 1d. Doyle sent everyone when he eliminated Daniel Hughes to end Day 1d.
Hanna will bring with him plenty of experience as he enters Day 2. Hanna has tallied over $160,000 in live career earnings, according to his The Hendon Mob page. The Ohio native has six RGPS cashes on his record, but he is still chasing the first RGPS ring of his career.
Bell is also chasing his first RunGood ring as he enters the room on Day 2. Bell has three cashes of his career at RGPS events, with the most recent happening at this series when he took second place in the $300 Seniors event. Bell will look to finish the job with a first-place finish.
Despite taking a hit late on Day 1d, World Series of Poker bracelet holder William Kopp (116,000) managed to bag and advance to the final day of play.
RGPS Ambassador Robert Gardner also qualified for Day 2 after a strong finish on Day 1d. Gardner has 33 cashes at RunGood events, but is still chasing that elusive first RunGood title of his career. Gardner can put that narrative to bed once and for all with a strong performance on the final day of play.
William’s sister and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Kate Kopp was unable to find a bag during Day 1d. World Poker Tour winner Veerab Zakarian also fell short on Day 1d. Three-time bracelet winner Sean Troha also failed to make the cut during the fourth flight of the main event.
Day 1e is currently underway and will represent the final batch of qualifiers to advance and make it to Day 2.
Day 2 is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. Blind levels will increase to 40 minutes on Day 2 as action will continue until a champion is crowned.
