First-Ever RGPS Laker Erie Main Event Champion to be Crowned

Jonathan Tackett
Jonathan Tackett

Five starting flights set the stage for the championship day as Lake Erie Poker Room looks to crown its first champion as it hosts the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) for the first time. The RGPS Golden Expedition Lake Erie $600 Main Event hosted a total of 360 entries, creating a prize pool of $200,000. This resulted in 37 players making their return to become the first-ever champion in RunGood history at Lake Erie Poker Room.

Jonathan Tackett (871,000) had a strong performance on Day 1b that propelled them to the top of the overall chip counts. Tackett has chased for the first time at a RunGood event with his return on Day 2. The only question is how much he will make that first cash. Tackett will also be chasing a personal milestone as a strong enough finish will push him into the six-figure club in overall live career earnings as he enters the final day with over $90,000 in career earnings on his The Hendon Mob profile.

Day 1e chip leader Joel Brink (840,000) enters Day 2 second in chips. This is Brink's first RGPS cash of his career. Brink enters the final day with $166,000 in live career earnings, per his The Hendon Mob page.

Sean Doyle

Sean Doyle (812,000) follows with the third biggest stack in the room as players return on Day 2. Doyle’s performance on Day 1d earned him one of the biggest stacks in the room. This is also Doyle’s first cash at a RunGood event, and he will aim to make a big one as he chases a RunGood title and ring.

Tsung-Yi Chuang

Tsung-Yi Chuang (747,000) has the fourth most chips, and he will also have a healthy stack as they pursue an RGPS title. Chuang led a healthy portion of Day 1b only to be surpassed by Tackett during the latter half of the flight. Nonetheless, Chuang’s willingness to mix it up will be a factor when he resumes his chase of an RGPS ring.

Daniel Hughes
Daniel Hughes

Daniel “Donk” Hughes (526,000) enters with a fair shake at an opportunity to capture his 11th RGPS ring on Sunday. Hughes has nearly $190,000 in live career earnings at RunGood events with 64 cashes in total. Hughes can climb up the all-time charts with a deep run on Sunday.

Robert Gardner
Robert Gardner

Fellow RGPS Ambassador Robert Gardner (273,000) is also looking to add to his RunGood track record. Gardner has tallied 33 cashes across RunGood events, but his first title has escaped him despite his consistent resume. Gardner can put that to bed should he get the job done with a victory on Day 2.

Sean Troha
Sean Troha

Three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Sean Troha (160,000) will be part of the crop that returns on Sunday. Troha does not have a RunGood title on his resume, but he brings with him a championship pedigree nonetheless. The Ohio native has earned over $3.6 million in live career earnings, per his The Hendon Mob page, and will be a force to reckon with should he gain traction on Day 2.

William Kopp
William Kopp

Fellow WSOP bracelet winner and Ohio native William Kopp (116,000) will have a spot on Sunday. Kopp is also no stranger to the championship rounds, with over two million in live career earnings to his name on his The Hendon Mob profile.

Keith Becker
Keith Becker

RGPS Ambassador Keith Becker (195,000) is still in the hunt. Becker is looking for his first RunGood title.

Play is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. as the remaining players will play down to a champion. Blind levels are slotted for 40 minutes with 15-minute breaks taking place after every three levels.
