Salim El Boustani
Salim El Boustani

Dionta James clashed with Salim El Boustani after El Boustani went all-in for 17,500 and was called by James on the flop of 3♠7♦2♠. El Boustani was at risk.

Salim El Boustani: 8♠8♦All in
Dionta James: 5♥3♥

El Boustani was ahead with his pocket pair, but James was paired up and still had a shot to sink El Boustani with two cards left.

The J♥ turn and the 7♠ river did not alter the standings, as El Boustani found a double against James.

River Shines on Godstrey

Daniel Godstrey

Michael Barlow made it 3,000 from the cutoff and was called by Daniel Godstrey in the big blind.

Godstrey led for 5,500 on the A♣5♥8♠ flop. Barlow called.

The 9♣ turn led to a check from Godstrey. Barlow fired 12,000, and Godstrey made the call after some deliberation.

Godstrey announced all-in on the Q♥ river for 20,000 even. Barlow quickly made the call, which put him at risk for fewer chips as they went to a showdown.

"I've got the nuts," said Godstrey as he showed J♠10♦ for a rivered straight to the queen. This was much to the disappointment of Barlow, as he showed he had the straight on the turn when he tabled 7♦6♦ for a nine-high straight to bust from the tournament.

Barlow bought back into the tournament to start with a new starting stack.

Matthew Ion

Antonio Ndoja shoved for his final 6,300 from under the gun. Dionta James called from the next seat over, and Matthew Ion also called on the button. Ndoja was at risk while Dionta and Ion played for a dry side pot.

Both remaining players checked the A♦K♥7♥ flop to usher in the 8♣ turn. James checked before Ion fired 6,000. Dionta called.

The 4♠ river led to another check from James. Ion bet 16,000 and James folded to award the side pot to Ion.

Ion showed 8♦8♠ for a set of eights for the main pot. Ndoja tabled J♥8♥ for a flopped flush draw that turned into a pair of eights instead, to be eliminated.

Ndoja bought back in to begin anew with a fresh starting stack.

Dionta James

This hand was picked up on the river of a board that read 9♣4♥J♠9♠7♠ when Dionta James bet 5,500. Antonio Ndoja applied max pressure when he went all-in for approximately 25,000 chips. James quickly called and put Ndoja at risk.

Ndoja showed a whiffed straight draw with Q♠10♣ for queen-high. James scored the knockout when he tabled K♠9♥ for trip nines to eliminate Ndoja.

Ndoja was seen re-buying into the tournament shortly after for a fresh starting stack.

James Takes Piece from El Boustani

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 100 ante

Salim El Boustani opened to 600 from the cutoff before Dionta James three-bet to 1,800 on the button. El Boustani called.

The 9♠A♥Q♠ flop led to a check from El Boustani. James followed with a bet of 1,900, and El Boustani called.

El Boustani checked again on the 6♥ turn. James put out a second barrel for the amount of 6,300. El Boustani called.

Both players slowed down with a check on the 2♥ river.

El Boustani showed Q♣J♠ for a pair of queens, but it was no good. James revealed A♣3♣ for a pair of aces to claim the healthy pot early on Day 1a.
