Alexander Picks Up Jacks to Double Off Lupi
Level 10
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Frank Lupi raised to 5,000 in middle position before a player in the hijack three-bet to 11,000. John Alexander then four-bet to 35,000 in the cutoff and Lupi emphatically slammed in a stack of chips for an all-in shove. The hijack got out of the way, but Alexander called for 86,500.
John Alexander: J♠J♦
Frank Lupi: 10♦10♠
"Feel free to give me a ten," Lupi pleaded with the dealer.
"Then a jack," Alexander added. The 6♣6♦4♣ flop had neither, but Alexander hit a full house on the J♣ turn to leave Lupi drawing dead.
"Give him four jacks," Lupi said, and the 5♦ fell on the river to secure the double up for Alexander.
