Isaac Ovalle raised to 1,200 from under-the-gun and was called by a player from early position before "Yankee" Jim Procaccinni chose to call from the cutoff. The small blind also came along to create a four-handed pot.
The small blind checked the 8♣8♦7♦ flop before Ovalle bet 1,500. Procaccini was the only caller.
Ovalle bet again to the tune of 3,500 on the J♠ turn, and was called yet again by Procaccini.
The 10♥ river led to a bet of 12,000 from Ovalle. Procaccini gave it some consideration before he made the call.
Ovalle showed 5♥5♠, but it was not good enough to claim the pot as Procaccini showed 6♠6♣ for a slightly better pair to take down the pot.
Issac Ovalle got the hand going with a raise to 900 from the cutoff. Ovalle was called by the button and both blinds to create a four-handed pot.
All four players checked the J♦Q♠2♦ flop to bring the 4♠ turn.
The small blind checked before the big blind bet 2,000. Ovalle called, while the other two opponents folded.
The big blind slowed down with a check on the 9♣ river. Ovalle was not done wagering as he put out a bet of 3,500. The big blind called, and Ovalle showed 4♦4♥ for a turned set of fours.
A pair of players in early position committed 3,000 apiece before Brad Koegel jammed for his final 1,000 from late position. Steve Sparks woke up with a hand in the big blind and opted to go all-in himself for 16,500.
The shove from Sparks led to folds from both early position players to result in a showdown between Sparks and Koegel, with Sparks scooping the side pot.
Brad Koegel: A♦7♣
Steve Sparks: A♣K♥
Sparks was well ahead as they went to a runout, but the flop was in favor of Koegel as it came 7♥4♥8♠ to pull Koegel ahead with a pair of sevens.
The 2♠ turn and the 2♥ river were of no consequence as Koegel secured the quadruple up.
Despite his success in this hand, Koegel was seen leaving he tournmanet area as he busted shortly after.
