mrtroy had previously won another larger pot and then tangled with chip leader Daniel Shearer when he gave up on an ace-high river with two diamonds, as his K♦9♦ had missed. Shearer won the pot with the A♣J♠ to pull further ahead.

A short stack then jammed from the hijack for 3,400 and Fukasawa on the button called. mrtroy in the big blind went all-in over the top and the button eventually committed his last 16,000 for 32 big blinds.

On a completed board with some 23,000 in the middle to the 9♣5♥2♦6♦6♣ river, Dakota went deep into the tank. He faced the shove of a player who had bought in not long ago for 17,200 and eventually made the call.

His opponent showed 10♥8♥ for a missed gutshot on the turn and was beaten by Dakota's A♣K♥.
