Day 1de Completed
The penultimate tournament day of the 2026 RGPS Passport Colossus at the Belle Salle Takadanobaba gained momentum and ensured that the event officially dubbed as NLH Colossus Sponsored by RunGood Passport would reach a four-figure attendance for the ¥15,000 (~$95) buy-in with the late registration still ongoing. It is also the start of the Golden Week in Japan which promises to be an incredibly busy time for the 2026 Japan Poker Open Tour (JOPT) Grand Final in Tokyo.
On Day 1d, another 202 entries boosted the field further and with at least 150 entries in the evening heat 1e, more than 1,200 total entries were already added for the overall tally. Perhaps, even the 1,585 entries of the very first edition in this partnership between RUnGood and the JOPT from one year ago may be in the cards as a turbo heat is to follow prior to the final day on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
After 13 levels of 30 minutes each, the 202 entries for Day 1d were whittled down to only 38 survivors and another participant turned their 30,000 starting stack into more than half a million. During the final level of the night, KEN T doubled through fellow larger stack KJ with pocket jacks versus pocket eights to jump into the top spot, ultimately bagging up 538,000. Behind him are He (440,000) and Penkuru (396,000), while AAAAAAAAAAAAAA most certainly improved on his severe short stack from the previous day to make it through to the final day with 354,000.

Inside of this flight's top ten are also Yusuke-t (306,000) and yukine (277,000) who both cashed in the inaugural RGPS Mission RunGood Japan in 2025. Japanese poker player, influencer and model Ayana Taniguchi bagged up an above-average stack as well (288,000) whereas irom finished just below it with 148,000.
All of the Day 1d survivors have a decent chance to reach "in the prize" as it is locally referred to here in Japan with a fixed prize pool of $89,159.06 to be shared among the top 199 finishers. Across the first four starting days, a total of 167 players made it through with one double-bag being removed. However, all those with chips at their disposal are awaiting how many further contenders will join them through the final two flights.

Day 1e had was up to more than 150 entries near the end of level five with the late registration open until the end of level nine. The last chance for everyone to jump into the action is the turbo heat 1f, slated to kick off tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. local time. They will finish their final hands a few minutes prior to the start of the final day at 1.30 p.m. local time and join all previous survivors.
From there on, the tournament will be racing towards the prizes and beyond with a 30-minute level structure until a winner has been crowned. Recommencing blinds for Day 2 will be 4,000-8,000 with a big blind ante of 8,000 and the average upon restart is expected to be around 25 big blinds.
The Day 1e chip counts and Day 2 seat draw of all survivors of the first five starting flights will be published later in the evening once the information has been provided by the JOPT. The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the floor for the conclusion for the second-ever RunGood Poker Series event on Japanese soil, so stay tuned for what shapes up to be a very exciting final day.
It was a two horse race for the chip lead on Day 1e and in the final hands of the night, ZERO-0- knocked out a short stack with Kd9c] versus A♦Q♠ preflop thanks to two pair on the K♣9♠3♠J♣5♠ board. That pot propelled him just ahead of Teddy to top the leaderboard and carry over a top five overall stack into the final day.

After an incredibly fast-paced final level, the field was whittled down to only 38 survivors and they have all bagged up their chips for the evening. Full chip counts will be published once they have been provided by the JOPT and a recap of this flight is to follow.
In the ongoing heat 1e, the first break is currently underway with 92 players out of 109 entries remaining.
KEN T lost an all-in against a shorter stack before a far bigger clash unfolded when he was at risk preflop against fellow larger stack KJ.
KEN T: J♣J♠
KJ: 8♠8♥
Up until now, it had been comfortable cruising for KJ but that all changed on the Q♠9♠4♦K♦A♥ runout. He lost the vast majority of his stack and then pushed twice after to only claim the blinds and big blind ante.

In the dying minutes of the flight, sato-shi jammed the A♦Q♥7♦3♠ turn for 91,000 on the button and table big stack KJ in the big blind asked for a count before he folded.
sato-shi then used the new found chips to flip against a short stack with 3♠3♦ versus A♥10♥ and spiked a set on the K♣8♣3♥6♦9♠ runout.

Into the middle it went for the last 68,000 by a short stack with the 5♣5♥ and table chip leader He made the call with the Q♦J♦. The suited over cards got there right away on the Q♠7♠7♣ flop and found no threat on the 4♦ turn nor 8♠ river.

A short stack pushed for the last ten big blinds when the final level of the flight had barely started and kento19 called with the 10♣10♥. They were flipping versus Q♥J♣ and fell behind on the Q♣8♠7♠ flop. However, the 10♦ turn improved kento19 to a set and he now needed to fade the remaining nines in the deck.
On the 7♦ river, kento19 improved to a full house for the knockout.
