Josh Swails had his short stack in the middle, at risk against Chi Do in the big blind.
Josh Swails: A♠7♠
Chi Do: A♣A♥
Swails was drawing thin before the K♠6♠4♠ flop delivered a flush. The 6♣ turn brought Do some outs, but the 2♣ river confirmed the early double for Swails.
Taerim Ku checked the 6♣A♥9♦ flop from the big blind, and Dan Gerard bet 7,000 in middle position. The call was made, and Ku checked again on the 2♦ turn.
Gerard took a moment before firing 24,000 into the middle. That produced a fold from Ku, and Gerard collected the chips.
After a busy week at the RunGood Poker Series Passport Pennsylvania series, the last 16 players return to Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course with a chance to take home the coveted RGPS ring today.
The $800 Main Event attracted a total of 144 entries across four opening flights, creating a $100,800 prize pool that smashed the advertised guarantee. The largest pieces of that purse will be up for grabs when play resumes at 12:00 p.m. local time.
Leading the field heading into the final day is Kazi Hossain, who took the overall lead with a stellar performance in the final flight to finish with 633,000 chips. That edged out Vernon Yoder, who dominated the first flight of the weekend to collect 605,000 chips. Both chip leaders will return with almost four times the average stack, and will be at the same table to begin the day.
Other top stacks returning to their seats are Day 1b leader Taerim Ku with 427,000, and James Cloutier holding 386,000 chips after topping the Day 1c field.
