Shojaeyan Shoots Up the Charts
Shahin Shojaeyan has had a strong last 20 minutes in this level as he has climbed up the chip counts with three wins in a row.
The first hand was picked up on the complete board of 3♥Q♣7♠Q♣5♥ with over 450,000 in the middle between Albert Tapia and Shahin Shojaeyan.
Tapia checked before Shojaeyan bet 300,000. Tapia went into the tank and played a time bank before he put in the call.
Shojaeyan showed 7♣7♦ for a full house as Tapia tapped the table and mucked his hand.
The rush would spill over into the next hand when Shojaeyan opened to 50,000 from early position before Matthew Luther made it 160,000 from the big blind.
Shojaeyan called and sent them to a flop of 2♦J♦A♣. Both players checked to usher in the 8♣ turn.
Luther bet 115,000 and was called by Shojaeyan.
The Q♥ river was met with a round of checks before they went to a showdown. Luther showed K♥K♣, but it was no good as Shojaeyan tabled A♠10♠ for a pair of aces to crack Luther's kings.
Shojaeyan would make it three in a row when he opened to 50,000 from early position before David Miller called from middle position. Tapia popped it to 210,000 on the button, which got a call from Shojaeyan and a fold from Miller.
Tapia and Shojaeyan checked it down the whole way on the J♣Q♦3♦2♥2♣ runout. Tapia announced ace-high, and Shojaeyan revealed 9♥9♣ to claim his third pot in a row.
