Damasco needed to fade the overcards of Evans, and the flop did just that when the dealer fanned out 9♣5♥Q♠ to keep Damasco in the lead.

The 9♥ turn was not a great card for Damasco, as now Evans could counterfeit him if the board paired again.

Damasco avoided such disaster on the 10♣ river as he secured the double.
