Day 1a Completed
It was a busy opening day of the inaugural RunGood Summer Series $600 Main Event, as the first of five flights attracted a total of 103 entries at The Lodge Card Club.
After almost 15 full levels of play, the final 13 survivors earned their way into the money as the first qualifiers to the chase the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool this weekend.
Bagging a big lead after Day 1a was Jeffery Sowell, who secured several knockouts on the way to collecting 794,000 chips, representing almost 20 starting stacks.
Sowell finished atop the counts, well ahead of Sergey Dadonkin (540,000) in second spot. Juan Rodriguez (504,000) rounds out the top three, the only other player to bag more than half a million chips on the opening day.

Sowell padded his stack in the later levels, making Broadway to send Jackson Holtgraves out before securing another knockout shortly after with pocket jacks.
The money bubble lasted less than five hands, after Caleb Barber doubled up with queens to leave Sharon Barth short. Barth then shoved on the button, with Paul Swickard taking down the final hand of the night.
The Main Event schedule continues with a pair of multiple flight days, starting on Friday, June 19 with Day 1b at 11:15 a.m. local time. Players will once again sit down with a starting stack of 40,000, with blinds starting at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante.
