James Galloway checked the 4♠5♣Q♥ flop from under the gun, and Sigge van der Veek slid out a bet of 1,500 on the button. The call was made, and Galloway checked again on the 10♥ turn.
Van der Veek sized up to 6,000, and Galloway replied with a raised to 25,500. Van der Veek then moved all in, and the call was quickly made.
Sigge van der Veek: Q♠10♦
James Galloway: 4♣4♥
Van der Veek tabled his two pair, while Galloway showed a set of fours. Galloway then improved to quads on the 4♦ river, taking down a big pot while sending his opponent to the rail.
Jon Paul Wingate opened to 1,000 from under the gun, and Joshua Lowy made the call in the cutoff. Adam Levy defended his big blind and checked the A♣7♣8♦ flop.
Wingate continued for 2,000, with only Lowy calling to see the 6♠ turn. Wingate fired 2,500, and the call was made.
The dealer revealed the Q♦ river, where both players checked it down. Wingate showed A♠2♠ for top pair, claiming the pot as Lowy mucked.
Joshua Lowy raised in early position, and Nathaniel Smith called in the hijack. Phillip Lee then three-bet to 1,200 on the button, and Jon Paul Wingate came along in the small blind. Jeffery Sowell also called in the big blind, and Lowy replied with a four-bet to 12,200.
Smith folded, and Lee moved all in. Only Lowy called, and the hands were turned up.
Phillip Lee: 8♥5♥
Joshua Lowy: A♦J♠
Lowy was the only one to connect with the 3♠9♠A♣7♥7♦ board, making two pair to send Lee out early.
Thomas McCutcheon led out for 4,000 from under the gun on the 10♣Q♣5♦ flop, and Noah Smith made the call on the button.
The 7♠ river produced another lead from McCutcheon, this time for 5,000. After taking a moment, Smith let his hand go and McCutcheon picked up an early pot.
The first ever RunGood Summer Series has been in action for the past week at The Lodge Card Club, and the time has arrived to kick off the $600 Main Event.
This weekend's tournament features a guaranteed $250,000 prize pool, with a total of five opening flights on the schedule over the next three days. The first chance to bag up a spot in the money gets underway today at 3:15 p.m. local time.
The series has already handed out nine trophies, and represents RunGood's second visit to the Texas state capital. Back in February, the RGPS Passport Austin $600 Main Event crowned Jose Garcia as champion out of a field of 1,018 entries, taking home the first-place prize of $88,007.
