They Call Him "Dreamcrusher"

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Gerard Donaghy
Gerard Donaghy

Three players limped into the pot before Mark Hodge raised to 2,500 in the cutoff. Two of the limpers called, then Gerard Donaghy limp-raised all in for 4,700 from the hijack. Hodge four-bet shoved for 9,600, and everyone else folded.

While the dealer was making change after everyone else folded, Donaghy gave Hodge a peek at his hand.

"I'm in big trouble!" Hodge remarked.

Gerard Donaghy: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Mark Hodge: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

"Puppy paws!" Hodge said to the dealer, looking for some clubs to steal the victory from Donaghy. None would fall on a {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} board, and Hodge called Donaghy a "dream crusher" with a laugh as Donaghy stacked up the pot.

Spinder Sees the Light

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Greg Spinder raised to 1,500 from middle position, and find a lone caller in the big blind.

"Check in the dark!" the big blind announced before the {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop fell. Spinder was undeterred and bet 1,500, which was quickly called by the big blind.

"Check in the dark!" the big blind said again. Spinder announced a bet of 3,500, and the big blind gave it some thought before releasing their hand.

A player raised to 1,500 from middle position, and was called by two-time WSOP Bracelet winner Athanasios Polychronopoulos in the small blind and [Removed:286] in the big blind.

Action checked to the middle position player on an {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, and they bet 3,000. Both Polychronopoulos and [Removed:294] called.

The {4-Spades} turn was checked through to the {k-Clubs} river, and Polychronopoulos checked. [Removed:294] bet 5,000, and the middle position player folded. Polychronopoulos took his time, but ultimately folded as well.

Kaplan Cuts Down Big Slick

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Three players were involved on the turn of a {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board, and the big blind checked over to a player from under the gun, who bet 5,300. Andrew Kaplan called in the cutoff, and the big blind folded.

The under-the-gun player bet 10,000 on the {5-Hearts} river, and Kaplan twirled two 5k chips around in his hands before eventually tossing them to the felt for a call. The under-the-gun player showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for a pair of kings, but Kaplan had that beat with {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for two pair, and Kaplan earned the pot.

Lucas Tae Wins RGPS Seminole Coconut Creek Event #2: $130 Opening Night

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Lucas Tae

While our live updates this weekend are focused on the $600 Main Event, this tournament is actually the culmination of a week's worth of tournaments.

Earlier this week, Event #2: $130 Opening Night Ring Event more than doubled its $10,000 guarantee as 211 runners generated a $20,678 prize pool. The top 27 finishers got paid including Nick Visconti (10th - $434), Wade Hinds (14th - $372), Barry Chazen (16th - $310), Jason Casten (19th - $248), Maxton Goncalves (23rd - $191), and Mark Brannick (26th - $154).

The title came down to Lucas Tae and Kimani McKoy, and the two battled in a lengthy heads-up affair. Ultimately it was Tae, a WSOP Circuit ring winner, who prevailed to claim a $5,028 first-place prize. The win came a month after he finished runner-up in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event #7: $200 NLH Big Stack for a career-high $37,055.
