RGPS Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event
Day 1b Started
It's time to continue crushing the guarantee here on Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series All Stars Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event, after yesterday's Day 1a flight beat the $50,000 guarantee twice in a single flight. Day 1b is set to begin at 10 a.m. EST, and registration is now open for the second and final flight of the Main Event.
Yesterday's Day 1a flight saw a total of 205 entrants be whittled down to just 29 by the end of play, with Event #1: $250 Super Stack No Limit Hold'em champ David Albertson lapping the field with a stack of 406,000, nearly double his closest competitor in Walter Bravo, who managed to bag up 236,000. Joel Weisberger (234,000) holds the final podium position, while Michael Tait (121,000) and Mark Hodge (90,000) were among other players to reach Day 2.
Day 1b players will begin with 20,000 in tournament chips, and fourteen 30-minute levels are on tap for today's flight. Blinds begin at 100/100, and unlimited re-entry and late registration are open until after the second break, or approximately 2:30 p.m. EST. Those lucky enough to make it through today's Day 1b flight will join the Day 1a survivors at 11 a.m. EST on Sunday, August 29th to play down to a champion, who will earn a coveted RGPS All Stars Ring and a seat into the RGPS All Stars Pro Am powered by PokerGO in December.
PokerNews will be on hand again for today's flight, providing all the action straight from the tournament floor. Stay tuned as the final flight of the inaugural RGPS East Coast tournament kicks off soon!

Paul Strohm made his entrance just before the tournament kicked off today, and Strohm is looking for a second straight RunGood Poker Series deep run, after being part of the 11-way chop at the previous RunGood Poker Series event at Horseshoe Council Bluffs. Strohm eventually finished 10th, but earned a healthy $26,058 payday for his efforts.
In a recent hand, a player in the big blind fired 3,000 into a pot of 4,000 on a board, and Strohm made the call on the button.
The big blind bet 7,000 on the river, and Strohm went into the tank for a minute before settling on a fold. Despite the setback, Strohm still sits near starting stack.

With a flop on the felt, action checked to 14-time WSOP Circuit Ring winner Maurice Hawkins on the button. Hawkins threw a bet of 1,400 into the pot of 2,000, and the big blind called, while the hijack folded.
Action checked down on the turn and river, and the big blind rolled over . Hawkins turned up for a pair of eights, and took down the pot. Hawkins, who sits atop the all-time WSOP Circuit Ring list, is looking to add a RunGood Poker Series title to his already expansive trophy room, and has already chipped up nicely in the first level.
