[Removed:294] Loses a Flip the Hard Way

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

[Removed:286] three-bet shoved her short stack of around 5,000 in from the small blind and was at risk against Michael Larkin from under the gun.

[Removed:286]: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Michael Larkin: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

[Removed:294]'s jacks improved to a full house on the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, and the {4-Clubs} turn was safe as well. The {7-Hearts} river gave both players quads, but Larkin now held the nuts with his ace kicker, sending [Removed:294] back to the registration desk to rebuy.

Peevy Shows One

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Arthur Peevy checked a {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} board from under the gun, and the cutoff bet 6,000 into the 10,000 chip pot. The button folded, and Peevy called.

Peevy flicked in two 5k chips on the {6-Spades} river for a bet of 10,000. The cutoff, who had just 12,000 behind, shook his head for a moment before folding. Peevy flung the {4-Diamonds} face-up on the felt, showing his opponent that he had rivered a straight before collecting the pot.

While our live updates this weekend are focused on the $600 Main Event, this tournament is actually the culmination of a week's worth of tournaments.

It all started earlier in the week with Event #1: $250 Super Stack NLH (Re-Entry), a tournament that easily surpassed its $25,000 guarantee as 376 runners generated a $77,080 prize pool. The top 49 players got paid a minimum of $366 and some of those walking away with a cash were Joe Duchman (10th - $1,341), Isolda White (20th - $771), and Scott Baumstein (26th - $540), just to name a few.

After Mark Cannon exited in third place for $7,194, the final two players ended the tournament with an even chop. Lisa Teebagy finished as runner-up while David Alberston, who had the chip lead, claimed the title and RGPS championship ring.

Distefano Shows the Bluff

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Vito DiStefano
Vito DiStefano

The hijack bet 4,500 into a pot of 6,000 with a {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} board on the felt, and Vito DiStefano called on the button.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the river, and the hijack checked. DiStefano bet 15,000, and the hijack, who had around 18,000 left in his stack, tanked for just over a minute before releasing his hand.

DiStefano flipped over {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for just a pair of fives, and Maurice Hawkins said, "You bluffed...and you showed it!" to a grinning DiStefano.

Duffield Catches Up On the Turn

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

George Duffield raised to 1,600 from early position, and found callers in the hijack and the big blind.

Action checked to the hijack on a {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop, and he bet 3,000. Only Duffield called.

Duffield check-called a bet of 4,000 from the hijack on the {q-Hearts} turn, and both players checked the {7-Spades} river. The hijack flipped over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens, but Duffield held {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a pair of queens and the winner.
